FAQ
What is 1.5 joules in FPS?
On a 0.20g BB, 1.5 J is about 401 FPS. On 0.25g it's 359 FPS, on 0.30g it's 328 FPS, and on 0.40g it's 284 FPS. Heavier BBs need less velocity to carry the same energy.
How do I convert joules to FPS?
v (m/s) = √(2 × E / m), where E is energy in joules and m is BB mass in kilograms. Multiply by 3.28084 to get FPS. Or just read it off this chart.
My field has a joule limit — which column do I use?
Use the weight of the BB in your gun when you chrono. If your field chronos everyone on 0.20g regardless, use the 0.20g column — but be aware of joule creep if you play with heavier BBs.
